Blackberry launched Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES) Express in February 2010. Essentially it has the most important features of the BES but it is FREE. It means that users have access to their work email, calendar, contacts and more from their personal BlackBerry smartphone.
However many companies have chosen to have their Microsoft Exchange hosted for a single monthly per user per month fee so removing the necessity of implementing their own Exchange Server Infrastructure. This provides significant cost savings.
Most hosting companies offer BES functionality for an additional monthly charge. However these companies have been slow to offer BES Express as part of their offering.
Alchemy Systems are probably the first UK hosting company that now offers FREE BES Express within their Hosted Exchange offering.
