As you’re hopefully starting to notice, our portfolio of IT related solutions is becoming larger – providing you with more of the things you need, under one roof.
While you may be familiar with the concepts of most of these new solutions, for those that are completely new to you I want to provide you with a place you can find out more – ask questions directly to the experts, understand the supplier’s development plans, and actually get to see these new solutions working. This is where the idea of Demos & Webinars comes in, and so expect to see some dates for Supplier-led webinars circulating shortly. Hopefully we’ll get them recorded too for those that can’t attend and make the playback available later as well.
Anything you want to see with more priority let me know and I’ll move it up the schedule.
Workforce Analytics & Productivity Software
Designed to better manage remote teams, or just office departments from afar, Employee Monitoring Software came to the fore during COVID times and has proven its value enough to have stuck around in the post-C era.
Installed visibly or invisibly, a Remote Monitoring Agent can give you the info that you’ve always been missing – especially with more and more people using their own devices for work these days. Be more productive; gain more data insights; improve processes & workflows. It can even be used as a clock-in / clock-out tool if required.
The scope of deployment is wide – from a whole organisation with an internal management portal, and an individual one for each user to login to their own data… right down to a single license for someone you think is up to no good within the business and you’d find useful to have screenshots every minute of what they’re working on during the day. Hugely flexible, and we can manage centrally for you via our consolidated portal.
The features list is huge, so if there’s something specifically of interest you need to achieve as a business give me a shout. Pricing is in the £6-10 per user per month bracket depending on features required. Normal 1-year contract on each license as standard.
Telephone Announcements
Just a little added extra, but a chance conversation with my younger brother had led to a business relationship with a Professional Voiceover chap. He offers all sorts of ‘announcement related services’, including:
- Professional voicemail announcements
- Automated Phone Menus
- On-hold messages
- Out-of-hours announcements
… literally whatever you need he can record and deliver in 48hours, for a small fee (and it is small too). Guaranteed to be better than getting the part-time workshop apprentice to do it !
Just something to think about if you’re taking a phone service from us or want to redo or pep-up an existing system.
Google Chrome Updates
Just a reminder that the Google Chrome browser has frequent updates – as often as every couple of weeks – to improve general security, add features, patch specific known holes, or even just redesign its look and feel. Along with all your business software, it is important that update schedules are maintained to lessen the chance of access to your data by unwanted parties. The current version is 117 at time of writing.
Updating it is simple and can be done from your end with little hassle, thus:
- Click the 3 dots on the top right of your Chrome browser page
- Select “Help” then “About Google Chrome”
- That should force the update automatically, or give you the option to check/update:
- When you relaunch after the update is complete you should see:
Global PC & Laptop Sales
Lenovo retains its position as the market leader in Q2 2023 with a 22.9% share of the global sales market, compared to HP’s 21.6% and Dells’s 16.6%.
Global shipments as a whole though were down 11.5% on 2022’s numbers.
Apple’s 50% growth year-on-year looks more impressive than it is, as the general consensus is that it took a year longer to recover from the supply chain disruption than the other majors, with 2023 being the first year it was delivering fully on its order quotas. The release of the 15-inch Macbook Air did give it a boost though.
